NAMTA established the Young Artist Achievement Awards in 1986 for the purpose of inspiring high achieving music students in the Nashville area and to give them recognition. Each Spring NAMTA hosts an audition/competition for K-12 students who perform either strings or piano. The event culminates with an announcement of recipients of the Young Artists Achievement Awards and a Winners Concert.
