Eligibility: Students attending a four-year accredited college or university, especially those who intend to major in the social sciences or other areas where they will give back to the community from which they came.
Jerry Newson Jr. believed in the possibilities that education offers the mind, body and spirit at any age. This scholarship was established as a fitting testimonial to the man who lost his life in the line of duty as a deputy of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department. The Fund is designed to help Davidson County residents realize their dreams of attending a four-year accredited college or university, especially those who intend to major in the social sciences or other areas where they will give back to the community from which they came.
