Governor Ned Ray McWherter could have easily continued down the path of civic leader and businessman, multiplying his personal and financial success manyfold. But instead, he decided to give back to his community and to people in need by dedicating his career to public service. This Fund was created upon Governor McWherter’s acceptance of the 2004 Joe Kraft Humanitarian Award and supports nonprofit organizations serving our neighbors in need. Food, shelter, clothing and a wide range of other basic needs are provided as a result of his kindness.
