The Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency was chartered in 1971 to respond to the pressing problems faced by low-income people, while seeking new and effective ways to combat the causes and the effects of poverty. Through the years, numerous initiatives have been added, such as Head Start, Nutrition Self-Help, Senior Companionship, and others.
