A pilot “mother’s day out” program was initiated by Judy Lewis in partnership with the Edgehill United Methodist Church in 2018 to help create an educational opportunity for infant-preschool age children living in the Edgehill community to experience a classroom-based learning environment. The early interest in this program was very strong, which has encouraged Judy to investigate other partners who may wish to become part of a network to serve the children and families in Edgehill. This Fund will support current and future programs with this shared goal and efforts to offer early learning in the neighborhood.
In the spirit of recognizing her mother’s nurturing role as parent and first educator as the inspiration for the original Edna Thomas Fund established more than 20 years ago, Judy has opted again to honor her mother with the naming of this Fund.
